In a tragic incident in Greater Noida, a 17-year-old boy has been taken into custody after allegedly losing control of a speeding SUV and fatally striking a pedestrian. The accident occurred on Wednesday morning in the Bisrakh area, leaving 27-year-old Shilpi, a resident of Jatpura in Uttar Pradesh’s Hardoi district, dead at the scene.
CCTV footage from the vicinity captured the moment leading up to the accident. The video shows Shilpi walking alongside the road when the SUV enters the frame, overtaking a tractor. In a shocking turn of events, the driver appears to lose control of the vehicle, veering off course and crashing into Shilpi at a high speed. The impact was so severe that she was dragged alongside the SUV before both collided with a nearby pole.
Authorities reported that the driver fled the scene immediately after the collision. Emergency services were called, but Shilpi was pronounced dead upon arrival. She was reportedly on her way to work at a construction site at the time of the accident.
The police have launched an investigation and have taken the teenage driver into custody. They are working to gather more details about the incident and have stated that the accused will face appropriate legal actions.
