A tragic incident unfolded in northeast Delhi when a 22-year-old man, identified as Ankur, was stabbed to death after confronting three bike-borne men about their reckless driving. The incident occurred on Saturday night as Ankur was returning from a Dussehra fair with his brother, Himanshu.
According to police reports, the confrontation took place on Saboli Road in the Harsh Vihar area. Ankur and Himanshu advised a biker carrying two pillion passengers to drive more cautiously. The altercation quickly escalated, leading the three men to dismount their bike and physically assault the brothers. During the scuffle, one of the attackers brandished a knife and stabbed both Ankur and Himanshu.
Himanshu sustained knife wounds to his neck and thigh but managed to rush his brother to a nearby hospital in an e-rickshaw. Unfortunately, Ankur was declared dead upon arrival. The police confirmed that he had sustained multiple stab wounds on his chest, stomach, and thigh.
Law enforcement officials have arrested one suspect, identified as Vikas, 22, and recovered the motorcycle involved in the attack. Two other assailants remain at large. CCTV footage of the incident has gone viral on social media, showing the brutal attack taking place in broad daylight, with onlookers present.
Ankur’s father, Krishan Pal, has called for stringent action against the perpetrators, expressing outrage over the senseless violence that claimed his son’s life. “We demand strict action against the accused,” he stated.
As the investigation continues, police are actively searching for the remaining suspects while urging anyone with information to come forward. This incident highlights the alarming rise in violence over trivial disputes, raising concerns about public safety in the city.
