National Security Advisor (NSA) Ajit Doval has called off his scheduled visit to Russia after falling ill with seasonal flu, sources confirmed on Monday. Doval was set to attend the 13th International Meeting of High Representatives for Security Issues, scheduled to take place in Moscow from May 27 to May 29.
Due to his indisposition, Doval will be unable to participate in the high-profile security meeting this week. The NSA had planned to engage with Russian counterparts to discuss bilateral strategic and security issues.
Officials close to the matter, speaking on condition of anonymity, said that Doval remains committed to advancing India-Russia strategic relations and aims to reschedule the engagement at the earliest possible opportunity.
The 13th International Meeting of High Representatives for Security Issues is an important forum where global security challenges are discussed, and Doval’s presence was expected to bolster cooperation between India and Russia.
Further updates on the rescheduling of the visit are awaited.
