India’s Got Latent Controversy and Supreme Court Ruling
The controversy surrounding India’s Got Latent erupted after podcaster Ranveer Allahbadia made offensive remarks during an episode. He asked a contestant an inappropriate question, which quickly went viral and sparked backlash on social media.
Following public outrage, Allahbadia issued an apology, admitting that his comment was not only inappropriate but also lacked humor. In a video posted on his X account, he stated, “My comment wasn’t just inappropriate, it wasn’t even funny. Comedy is not my forte. I am just here to say sorry.” He further reassured viewers that he would be more mindful of his influence on younger audiences in the future.
Meanwhile, the Supreme Court on Monday allowed Allahbadia to resume his show, with the condition that it adheres to standards of decency and morality. The controversy has ignited a broader discussion about responsible content creation in the digital space.
