“Audi in Noida Hit-and-Run Found by Police”

The Noida Police have made progress in a recent hit-and-run case by recovering the Audi car responsible for the incident that claimed the life of a 55-year-old man. While the vehicle has been traced, the driver remains at large as authorities work to identify and apprehend them.

The tragic incident occurred on a Noida city road when Janak Dev Sah was struck by a speeding Audi while on his way to buy milk. The impact was severe, leading to Sah’s immediate death at the scene. Following the incident, Sah’s son Pradeep filed a report with the local police station, prompting an investigation into the hit-and-run case.

Deputy Commissioner of Police Vidya Sagar Mishra confirmed that the Audi, registered in Haryana, was located in Delhi’s Kidwai Nagar area near the NBCC complex. Despite the recovery of the vehicle, the focus now shifts to identifying the owner and ultimately apprehending the driver responsible for the fatal crash.

This recent hit-and-run follows a pattern of similar incidents in Noida, including one on May 16 involving a BMW and an e-rickshaw that resulted in fatalities and injuries. In that case, two individuals were apprehended while a third fled the scene, leading to an ongoing investigation.

The district of Gautam Buddh Nagar, encompassing Noida and Greater Noida, has witnessed a concerning number of road crashes. In 2023 alone, there were 1,176 reported crashes resulting in 470 deaths and 858 injuries. These figures highlight the urgent need for improved road safety measures and stricter enforcement of traffic laws.
