Back-to-Back Bomb Threats Cause Panic at Patna, Vadodara Airports; Security Heightened Nationwide

Authorities at Patna’s Jayprakash Narayan International Airport were put on high alert after receiving a bomb threat via email on Tuesday. The threat led to a swift escalation in security measures across the premises.

The Patna Airport Director received the threatening email at 1:10 PM, prompting an immediate response. Security personnel conducted thorough checks and implemented heightened security protocols to ensure the safety of passengers and staff. This incident marks the second bomb threat targeting an airport on the same day.

Earlier, Vadodara Airport in Gujarat faced a similar situation when it also received a bomb threat via email. The airport authorities quickly contacted the police, leading to increased security measures throughout the airport. A probe has been launched to trace the source of the threat, with the Vadodara Cyber Crime unit actively investigating the matter.

These incidents follow a string of bomb threats that have caused disruptions across the country. On Tuesday, a hoax bomb threat delayed a Dubai-bound flight from Chennai International Airport, which was carrying 268 passengers. The flight, scheduled for departure at 10:30 AM, underwent a thorough security check after an email warning of a bomb on board was received.

In another recent incident, a Dubai-bound flight from Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport received a bomb threat on Monday. The Delhi International Airport Limited (DIAL) office received an email at 9:35 AM, leading to heightened security and thorough inspections of the aircraft.

These threats come on the heels of several bomb scares last week, where multiple museums in Delhi, including the Railway Museum, received bogus bomb threats via email. Approximately 10-15 museums were targeted, causing significant alarm before the threats were confirmed to be hoaxes.

Authorities are on high alert, and investigations are ongoing to determine the origins of these threats and to prevent further disruptions. Passengers are advised to remain vigilant and cooperate with security measures to ensure safety at all airports.
