BJP MLA Falls onto Railway Tracks During Vande Bharat Train Flag-Off

BJP MLA Falls on Railway Tracks While Flagging Off Vande Bharat Express in Etawah

BJP MLA Sarita Bhadauriya narrowly escaped a potential accident on Monday after falling onto the railway tracks while attempting to flag off the Vande Bharat Express at Etawah station. Purported videos of the incident have surfaced on social media, capturing the tense moment as a crowd gathered on the platform.

The 61-year-old lawmaker, representing Etawah in her second term, was part of a delegation assigned to flag off the Agra-Varanasi Vande Bharat Express, numbered 20175, following its virtual inauguration by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The train was officially flagged off by Rail Minister Ravneet Singh Bittu from Agra.

The incident occurred around 6 pm as the train arrived at the station. In the footage circulating online, Bhadauriya can be seen among a group of officials and politicians waving the green flag to signal the train’s departure. As the train’s horn blared and the platform became increasingly crowded, a commotion broke out. In the ensuing chaos, Bhadauriya was pushed off the platform, falling onto the railway tracks directly in front of the stationary train.

Bystanders quickly alerted the train crew, who managed to stop the train in time, preventing what could have been a serious accident. Bhadauriya was rescued from the tracks by local police and was later seen consulting doctors.

Speaking to PTI, BJP Etawah unit treasurer Sanjeev Bhadauriya said, “The MLA was helped off the track and waited at the platform for some time following the flag-off event. She did not sustain any visible injuries, but she is resting at home and consulting doctors to rule out any internal injuries.”

The chaotic scene unfolded shortly after the train had stopped at Tundla before arriving at Etawah. The platform was crowded with political dignitaries, including Samajwadi Party MP Jitendra Douwhare, former BJP MP Ram Shankar, and current MLA Sarita Bhadauriya, who had gathered for the flag-off ceremony.
