“BJP MP Accuses Mahua Moitra of Compromising India’s Security for Personal Gain with Dubai Connection”

BJP MP Accuses Mahua Moitra of Security Breach Amid 'Cash for Query' Scandal

The ‘cash for query’ controversy in Indian politics has taken a new turn as BJP’s Lok Sabha MP, Nishikant Dubey, levels serious allegations against TMC MP Mahua Moitra. He claims that Moitra’s login credentials for Parliament’s official website were used in Dubai, raising concerns about a potential security breach and sparking a fresh wave of controversy.

This development comes in the wake of businessman Darshan Heeranandani’s affidavit, in which he alleged that he provided gifts and other inducements to Moitra in exchange for her raising questions in Parliament. He also claimed to have access to her parliamentary login details. Mahua Moitra has vehemently denied all these allegations, questioning the credibility of the affidavit.

Nishikant Dubey, who had previously taken the matter to Parliament’s Ethics Committee, wrote on X, “An MP mortgaged the country’s security for some money. Parliament’s IDs were opened from Dubai. At that time, the MP was in India. The entire Indian government, the Prime Minister of the country, the Finance Department, and the central agencies are on this NIC; and the opposition has to do politics. The decision is of the public. NIC gave this information to the investigating agency.” It’s important to note that Dubey did not directly name Mahua Moitra in his statement.

The Lok Sabha’s Ethics Committee has summoned Nishikant Dubey to appear before it on October 26 to record oral evidence.

Darshan Heeranandani, in his affidavit, asserted that he utilized Moitra’s parliamentary login details to gain access to Parliament’s website and pose questions targeting industrialist Gautam Adani.

In response to the allegations, Mahua Moitra raised doubts about the authenticity of the affidavit, noting, “The affidavit is on white paper, and not on official letterhead or notarized. Why would one of India’s most respected/educated businessmen sign a letter like this on white paper unless a gun was put on his head to do it?”

She also criticized the contents of the affidavit, suggesting it was politically motivated, saying, “The contents of the letter are a joke. It has clearly been drafted by some half-wit in the PMO who doubles up as a creative writer in the BJP’s IT cell. It sings paeans to Modi and Gautam Adani while linking every opponent of theirs to me and my alleged corruption.”

Mahua Moitra further claimed that the BJP aims to have her expelled from the Lok Sabha to silence her, alleging, “BJP’s 1 point agenda is to expel me from LS to shut me up on Adani.”

This ongoing controversy underscores the intensity of political divisions in India and the challenges associated with maintaining transparency and accountability within the political landscape.
