A routine gym session in Mulund turned violent when a trainer struck a gym-goer on the head with a mudgar (club). The shocking incident, which occurred on Wednesday, was recorded by the gym’s CCTV camera and has led to the arrest of the trainer involved.
The victim, identified as Yogesh Shinde, was working out with assistance from a trainer when another trainer, who had been standing apart, picked up a club and struck Shinde on the head. The CCTV footage reveals Shinde holding his head in pain and sitting down while other trainers hurried to intervene and stop the attacker.
According to Shinde’s police complaint, there had been no prior altercation between him and the trainer. Shinde stated that the trainer had been staring at him before the attack and that he even inquired if he was performing the exercises incorrectly. The trainer, however, did not respond and suddenly assaulted him.
Following the attack, Shinde underwent an MRI scan which revealed two fractures on the left side of his skull, as reported by The Free Press Journal. The severity of the injuries underscores the gravity of the incident.
While some reports suggest that the trainer might have been offended by a joke Shinde made, the exact motive behind the assault remains unconfirmed. The police are continuing their investigation into the incident.
