    Chief Justice of India, D Y Chandrachud, emphasized the judiciary’s accessibility and the Supreme Court’s role as a “people’s court” during the inauguration of Constitution Day celebrations. He stressed citizens’ faith in the court system, citing instances where the court acted to protect personal liberties, rights of marginalized communities, and societal issues.

    Chandrachud highlighted the Supreme Court’s commitment to delivering justice, not just through verdicts but also through citizen-centric administrative processes. He advocated for citizens’ trust in the court system, urging them to view it as a fair and effective forum for enforcing their rights.

    Moreover, he underscored the judiciary’s embrace of technology, mentioning the launch of the Hindi e-SCR platform with thousands of judgements translated, vetted, and made available for free access. Additionally, he discussed initiatives like live-streaming court proceedings and the launch of ‘e-sewa kendras’ to ensure inclusivity in the judicial process.

    The CJI also highlighted advancements in the judicial system, mentioning the upcoming launch of the Fast and Secured Transmission of Electronic Records (FASTER) application to expedite the release of incarcerated individuals.

    The Constitution Day celebrations, as per Chandrachud, symbolize India’s vibrant democracy and the people’s commitment to its constitutional values. The event emphasized the judiciary’s efforts towards accessible justice, technological integration, and upholding constitutional principles for a progressive nation.
