Conman Running Fake Intelligence Organization Arrested in Uttar Pradesh

A man running a fraudulent intelligence organization and duping people with forged documents has been arrested in Uttar Pradesh’s Bareilly, police officials said on Tuesday.

According to a senior police officer, the accused, Vijay Massey, posed as the director of a fake organization named ‘Covert Intelligence Network Social Welfare Association.’ He allegedly charged hefty amounts to create counterfeit identification documents.

A joint team from the local police and the Special Operations Group (SOG) raided his office in Patel Nagar on Monday evening, leading to his arrest. Several forged documents and other incriminating materials were seized during the operation.

    Fraudulent Activities Uncovered

Superintendent of Police (SP) Manush Parik stated, “We received confidential complaints about a man claiming to be the director of an intelligence agency and misleading people. Upon investigation, the allegations were found to be true. A case was registered, and he has been sent to jail.”

During questioning, Massey revealed that he hails from Uttarakhand’s Champawat district and had been living in Izzatnagar, Bareilly. He admitted that he had only studied up to Class 12 and had previously worked for a security company in Uttarakhand before engaging in document forgery.

Massey confessed that he used the name ‘Covert Intelligence Network Social Welfare Society’ to attract people and issue fake identity cards resembling official police credentials.

    Seized Evidence

Police confiscated several forged items, including:

    • Fake police-style ID cards
    • Appointment letters and application forms for various departments
    • Letters addressed to the district magistrates of Bareilly and Rudrapur
    • Pen drives and other digital materials
    • A car marked with “Director” in a police-style format

    How Massey Deceived Victims

Authorities revealed that Massey issued fraudulent intelligence network ID cards, which were often used by people to bypass tolls and police checkpoints.

Additionally, he allegedly charged victims for assisting with filing complaints, securing loans, and arranging jobs. He also sent fake letters to officials to exert pressure and influence decisions.

Massey admitted that he learned these fraudulent tactics while working as a security guard in Uttarakhand. The police are now investigating his network and identifying others involved in the scam.
