Delhi Minister Saurabh Bharadwaj has provided an update regarding AAP MP Raghav Chadha’s absence from election campaigns, revealing that Chadha is currently in the UK for eye surgery. Bharadwaj shared that Chadha faced a serious complication in his eyes, risking potential blindness without timely treatment.
“Raghav is in the UK to get treatment after he suffered a complication in his eyes. I was told that it was quite serious and if timely treatment was not given then there could’ve been a possibility of blindness,” said Bharadwaj, wishing Chadha a swift recovery and anticipating his return to India to resume the party’s campaign activities.
Despite undergoing treatment abroad, Chadha has remained active on social media, addressing various developments within the party. He responded to allegations about the denial of insulin and other medicines to Arvind Kejriwal by Tihar jail authorities, calling it inhumane and against prison rules.
Arvind Kejriwal, the Delhi Chief Minister, was arrested in March in connection with the Delhi Liquor Policy case and later by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in a money laundering case. His absence has led to his wife, Sunita Kejriwal, taking a more active role in AAP’s campaign, starting with a roadshow in support of AAP candidates in Delhi.
In addition to his political engagements, Chadha made headlines earlier for attending the London India Forum 2024 alongside Parineeti Chopra, whom he married in September. The couple shared updates on their social media platforms about their participation in the event hosted at the London School of Economics.
