
In a heartbreaking turn of events, a 78-year-old farmer, Gyan Singh from Gurdaspur district, passed away on Friday morning while participating in the ongoing protest at the Shambhu barrier on the Punjab-Haryana border.
According to reports, Singh was rushed to the civil hospital in Rajpura at 4 am after experiencing health complications. Subsequently, he was referred to the Government Rajindra Hospital in Patiala, where he was admitted to the emergency wing.
Despite the medical team’s efforts, Singh’s condition deteriorated rapidly, and he tragically succumbed to a massive heart attack within half an hour of his admission.
Confirming the devastating news, a senior doctor at Rajindra Hospital stated, “The farmer suffered a massive heart attack. He was in a critical condition when he was admitted here. He died around 6 am.”
Singh’s untimely demise has cast a somber shadow over the ongoing protests, highlighting the challenges and risks faced by farmers as they continue to fight for their rights and demands.
