A devastating incident unfolded in Uttar Pradesh’s Gonda district today as a Toyota Fortuner SUV, part of the convoy of Karan Bhushan Singh, BJP candidate from Kaiserganj Lok Sabha seat, collided with a bike, claiming two lives. The victims include a 17-year-old and a 24-year-old, with another person injured and hospitalized.
The collision occurred around 9 am when the speeding SUV, reportedly with a “police escort” label, hit the bike carrying the two victims who were out to buy medicines. The tragic event has shocked the local community, prompting demands for justice from the families of the deceased.
The SUV’s registration number UP32HW1800 indicates it is associated with the Nandini Nagar educational institute run by Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh’s family. Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh, a prominent figure in wrestling administration, faced legal scrutiny recently with charges framed against him in a sexual harassment case involving wrestlers.
The driver of the SUV, Luvkush Srivastava, has been arrested, and the vehicle has been seized as part of the ongoing investigation. However, there is no confirmation yet on whether Karan Bhushan Singh was present in the convoy during the accident.
Senior police officer Radheysham Rai confirmed that the bodies of the victims have been sent for autopsy, and a thorough investigation is underway to determine the circumstances of the collision. The tragic incident has stirred emotions in the community, with calls for justice echoing among the affected families and local residents.
