Early morning fog caused significant disruptions at Kempegowda International Airport in Bengaluru on Monday, affecting at least 10 flights. According to officials, the delays lasted between 20 to 30 minutes and are a common occurrence during this time of year when dense fog often blankets the airport in the early hours of the day.
Bangalore International Airport Limited (BIAL) confirmed the delays, attributing them to the seasonal fog, which can reduce visibility and impact flight operations. The fog delayed both arriving and departing flights, prompting passengers to check for updated flight statuses before heading to the airport.
As of today, Bengaluru’s weather is marked by moderate temperatures, with the current temperature standing at 24.54°C. The day is expected to reach a maximum of 26.65°C, with a minimum of 18.55°C. The relative humidity is at 52%, and the wind speed is measured at 52 km/h. The sun rose at 6:16 AM and is expected to set at 5:50 PM.
For tomorrow, the forecast predicts a cooler start to the day, with temperatures ranging between 18.65°C and 23.58°C. The humidity level will rise to 67%, further increasing the chances of fog formation in the morning hours.
In addition to the flight disruptions, the city is experiencing moderate air quality, with the Air Quality Index (AQI) recorded at 133.0, indicating moderate pollution levels. Health experts recommend that children and individuals with respiratory conditions, such as asthma, limit prolonged outdoor exposure during periods of moderate to poor air quality.
