In a significant crackdown, the Hyderabad Excise Department has dismantled a racket involving whiskey-laced ice cream and arrested two individuals. The raid took place at an ice cream parlour located in the Jubilee Hills area, known for its upscale clientele.

During the operation, officials discovered that the parlour was mixing 100 ml of whiskey into 60 grams of ice cream. The illicit concoction was being sold at exorbitant prices. Authorities seized approximately 11.50 kilograms of the whiskey-infused ice cream from the premises.

The proprietors of the establishment, identified as Dayakar Reddy and Sobhan, have been arrested and are facing charges related to the illegal sale of alcohol and food safety violations. The seizure and arrests come as part of a broader effort by the Excise Department to curb unauthorized alcohol use and ensure compliance with food safety regulations.

The investigation is ongoing, and officials are continuing to scrutinize other establishments to prevent similar violations. The incident highlights growing concerns about the misuse of alcohol in food products and the need for stringent enforcement of regulations.
