The city of Hyderabad witnessed a delightful and unexpected moment during the ‘Ganesh Visarjan’ procession as police officers joined hundreds of devotees in a joyous dance. The heartwarming scenes unfolded at Hyderabad’s NTR Marg, marking the conclusion of the Ganpati festival celebrated with fervor across Telangana and other states.
Videos capturing this uplifting display of unity and celebration have quickly gone viral on social media platforms. In the footage, police personnel were seen dancing alongside devotees to traditional songs, creating an atmosphere of camaraderie and festivity. The jubilant celebrations took place in Khairatabad, where an impressive 63-ft tall Ganpati idol had been installed this year.
What made this moment even more special was that police officers of all ranks, from senior officials to the junior-most, decided to set aside their roles for a while and embrace the spirit of the occasion. One policeman, in particular, garnered attention as he danced freestyle atop a wall, surrounded by an enthusiastic crowd on both sides. Cameras and onlookers were drawn to his spirited performance.
The Hyderabad Police shared glimpses of several Ganesh processions that meandered through the city, highlighting the community’s enthusiasm and devotion during the festival.
To ensure the smooth conduct of the ‘Nimajjanam’ (immersion) process, where approximately 90,000 idols of Lord Vinayaka are expected to be immersed in Hussain Sagar and various other lakes and water bodies in Hyderabad, the police have implemented extensive security measures. Over 30,000 security personnel have been deployed throughout the city for this purpose, with their duty expected to continue until Friday.
This heartening episode serves as a testament to the unity and festive spirit that transcend boundaries and roles, bringing joy to communities during cultural celebrations like the Ganesh Visarjan.
