Several schools in Jaipur, Rajasthan, faced a security scare as they received bomb threats via email on Monday. According to reports from the news agency PTI, at least four schools in the capital city received these threats, prompting immediate evacuation measures and police interventions.
Jaipur Police Commissioner Biju George Joseph confirmed the situation, stating that “four to five schools have received bomb threats,” leading to swift action from the police who promptly reached the affected schools. The threats were delivered via email, and law enforcement authorities are actively working to identify the sender and ascertain the credibility of the threats.
In response to the alarming situation, students and staff members were evacuated from the affected schools. Police teams, including bomb squads and canine units, were deployed to conduct thorough searches and ensure the safety of everyone on the premises.
This incident follows a similar pattern observed recently in Delhi-NCR, where over 150 schools received bomb threats that were later deemed hoaxes. The threats in Delhi were received via emails from a Russia-based mailing service, leading to widespread evacuations and security alerts.
Notably, this is not the first time Jaipur has encountered such threats. In the past, Jaipur airport also received bomb threats, which were later determined to be false alarms.
Meanwhile, in Delhi, apart from schools, hospitals, and other key installations like the IGI airport and Northern Railways’ CPRO office, also faced bomb threats through emails. These incidents have raised concerns about the security protocols and the need for enhanced vigilance in public spaces.
Law enforcement agencies are actively investigating the origin of these threats, with a focus on identifying the senders and taking appropriate legal actions. The safety and security of citizens remain a top priority as authorities work to ensure a swift and effective response to such alarming situations.
