Junaid, a 32-year-old content creator from Kerala who was out on bail in a sexual assault case, died in a road accident on Friday evening in Malappuram, reports said.
Junaid, known for his slow-motion and robotic-style dance videos, was found gravely injured on the roadside with a serious head injury. According to reports, his two-wheeler overturned after colliding with a sand mound around 6:30 pm at the Marathani Bend in Malappuram’s Karakunnu.
Bus workers first spotted Junaid lying on the road with severe head wounds. He was immediately rushed to Manjeri Medical College Hospital in a private car but was declared dead on arrival.
Junaid’s Recent Arrest in Sexual Assault Case
Before his death, Junaid was in the news after being arrested on rape charges. He was taken into custody by the Kerala Police on March 1 in Bengaluru following allegations from a young woman who claimed he had sexually assaulted her under the false pretense of marriage.
Following his arrest, Junaid was brought back to Kerala, where legal proceedings were underway.
Junaid had gained popularity on Instagram for his unique dance moves, particularly among Malayali social media users. However, he had remained relatively inactive on social media after his arrest.
Investigation Underway
Authorities are investigating the circumstances surrounding Junaid’s accident. While initial reports suggest he lost control of his vehicle, officials have not ruled out other possibilities.
