In a display of simplicity that resonated with many, billionaire Mukesh Ambani, Chairman of Reliance Industries, was seen carrying his Aadhaar card in a transparent pouch as he cast his vote at a polling station in Mumbai during the fifth phase of the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. Accompanied by his wife Nita Ambani, founder and Chairperson of Reliance Foundation, and their son Akash Ambani, the family urged all Indians to exercise their right to vote.

The Ambani family’s presence at the Malabar Hill polling booth underscored the importance of civic duty, with Nita Ambani emphasizing that voting is not just a right but a responsibility for every Indian citizen. Social media users took note of Mukesh Ambani’s simplicity, praising him for carrying his Aadhaar card like any other citizen.
