A chilling sequence of events unfolded early Friday morning in Mumbai’s Goregaon area when the body of 58-year-old Kishore Pednekar was discovered on the road in front of Topiwala Mansion, Jawahar Nagar. Kishore, who worked as a gym equipment salesman, was found dead, with initial reports suggesting he had jumped to his death.
Local residents, who alerted the authorities, found Kishore’s body and noted that the key to his apartment was hanging around his neck as a locket. This led to a grim discovery when the police arrived at his flat. The flat was locked from the inside, and after using the keys found on Kishore, the police opened the door to find Kishore’s wife, Rajshree Pednekar, deceased inside.
Rajshree, a 57-year-old therapist, was found strangled in their apartment. Both Kishore and Rajshree were declared dead upon arrival at the hospital.
Police investigations indicate that Kishore may have planned the deaths in advance. Several medications for depression and diabetes were found in the flat, pointing to Kishore’s possible state of severe depression. Additionally, authorities discovered that Kishore had booked a flight ticket from Delhi to Mumbai for his son and had sent detailed information about his bank accounts to a relative via WhatsApp before the incident.
The police’s preliminary assessment suggests that Kishore may have murdered his wife before ending his own life. The case remains under investigation as authorities piece together the details of this tragic event.
