Renowned stand-up comedian Munawar Faruqui has expressed his happiness for fellow YouTuber and Bigg Boss winner Elvish Yadav after Yadav secured bail in the snake venom case in Noida. This development comes amidst growing anticipation among fans about a potential collaboration between the two popular personalities.
Faruqui and Yadav recently delighted their fans by posing together for a selfie at the Indian Premier Street League, sparking excitement about a possible collaboration. In response to a query from a paparazzo regarding Yadav’s bail, Faruqui remarked, “I know how it feels. Good news hai (it’s good news). So I’m happy (for Elvish).”
Faruqui’s empathy towards Yadav’s legal ordeal stems from his own experiences with arrests and court cases. In 2021, Faruqui was released from Indore central jail after over a month when the Supreme Court granted him bail in a case where he was accused of hurting religious sentiments during a comedy show. The case was based on a complaint by Eklavya Singh Gaud, son of BJP MLA Malini Laxman Singh Gaud, regarding objectionable remarks about Hindu deities and Union Home Minister Amit Shah made during a comedy performance at a café in Indore on New Year’s Day.
Elvish Yadav’s case revolves around allegations related to a drugs investigation involving the suspected use of snake venom as a recreational substance at parties he hosted. A Noida court granted bail to Yadav six days after his arrest by the Noida Police on March 17. The case originated from an FIR filed at Noida’s Sector 49 police station on November 3, prompted by a complaint from a representative of the animal rights NGO People for Animals (PFA).
While Yadav was among the six individuals named in the FIR, the five other accused, who are snake charmers, had been previously arrested in November but were subsequently released on bail. The arrests occurred at a banquet hall in Noida Sector 51, where nine snakes, including five cobras, were rescued from their possession, along with 20 ml of suspected snake venom.
Notably, the police clarified that Elvish Yadav was not present at the banquet hall during the arrests, but they are investigating his alleged involvement in the case, which is centered on the use of snake venom as a recreational drug. The developments in Elvish Yadav’s legal situation and the collaboration prospects with Munawar Faruqui have garnered significant attention in the entertainment and social media spheres.
