PM Modi to Launch Development Projects Worth ₹5,500 Crore in Prayagraj

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Prayagraj on Friday to launch a series of developmental projects worth ₹5,500 crore aimed at preparing the city for the 2025 Maha Kumbh. The projects are designed to enhance infrastructure, improve amenities, and support the influx of pilgrims and tourists for the grand event.

According to an official statement, Modi will arrive in Prayagraj at approximately 12:15 PM. His visit will commence with ceremonial pooja and darshan at the Sangam, the sacred confluence of the Ganga, Yamuna, and Saraswati rivers. Following this, he will perform rituals at the historic Akshay Vata Vriksh, Hanuman Mandir, and Saraswati Koop before touring the Maha Kumbh exhibition site.

    Major Projects to Be Unveiled

The Prime Minister is set to inaugurate various infrastructure and religious corridor projects:

    • Temple Corridors: These include the Bharadwaj Ashram corridor, Shringverpur Dham corridor, Akshayvat corridor, and Hanuman Mandir corridor, aimed at improving access to key pilgrimage sites.
    • Connectivity Enhancements: New road overbridges, riverfront roads, and ghats will be developed to ensure smoother transportation and ease of movement for visitors.
    • Environmental Upgrades: Sewage treatment systems will be installed to prevent untreated waste from entering the Ganga, ensuring a cleaner environment.

Additionally, Modi will launch essential infrastructure projects focused on drinking water supply and power distribution, further boosting the city’s basic amenities.

    Technological Support for Pilgrims

To facilitate communication and streamline services for devotees, the Prime Minister will unveil the Kumbh Sah’AI’yak chatbot, a digital assistant designed to provide information and assistance during the Maha Kumbh.

    Public Address and Arrangements

The Prime Minister will conclude his visit with a public address at 2 PM. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath held meetings with local officials and representatives on Thursday to ensure seamless arrangements for the visit and the large crowd expected at the event.

These initiatives reflect the government’s commitment to creating a well-equipped and pilgrim-friendly environment for the 2025 Maha Kumbh, reaffirming Prayagraj’s status as a spiritual and cultural hub.
