In a startling turn of events, former Karnataka minister HD Revanna and his son Prajwal Revanna are embroiled in a kidnapping case following allegations of sexual abuse against the sitting JD(S) MP from Hassan. The case has been registered based on a youth’s complaint, claiming that his mother was kidnapped after a disturbing video implicating Prajwal surfaced.
The incident has sparked nationwide attention, leading to the formation of a Special Investigation Team (SIT) by the state government to delve into the matter. Scores of explicit video clips allegedly involving the 33-year-old MP have circulated recently, adding complexity to the case.
HD Revanna, a JD(S) MLA from Holenarasipura constituency and a prominent figure in Karnataka politics, is the son of former Prime Minister HD Deve Gowda and the elder brother of former Chief Minister HD Kumaraswamy. Prajwal Revanna, his son and a sitting MP, faces multiple allegations of sexual misconduct and abuse.
The latest complaint, filed on Thursday night in Mysuru, alleges that Prajwal kidnapped the complainant’s mother. The youth recounted details of his mother’s previous employment at Revanna’s residence and the events leading up to her disappearance, including threats and coercion by individuals associated with the Revanna family.
The KR Nagar police in Mysuru Rural sub-division have registered a case of kidnapping, wrongful confinement, and connivance against HD Revanna and an associate named Sathish Babanna. The complainant expressed concerns for his mother’s safety and urged authorities to locate her swiftly.
In response to the mounting allegations and legal action, HD Revanna maintained his innocence, asserting his readiness to cooperate with investigations. He emphasized facing the situation with strength and legal integrity while denying any wrongdoing.
