In a shocking incident on Wednesday evening, a pregnant woman and her family narrowly escaped death after an oxygen cylinder exploded inside an ambulance in Maharashtra’s Jalgaon district. The explosion was so powerful that it shattered windows of nearby houses.
The incident occurred when the ambulance, which was ferrying the pregnant woman and her family from Erandol Government Hospital to Jalgaon District Hospital, was traveling on a flyover in the Dada Wadi area. The ambulance driver noticed smoke emanating from the vehicle’s engine and immediately ordered everyone to disembark for safety.
Moments later, the engine of the ambulance caught fire, and the oxygen cylinder inside the vehicle exploded, causing a massive fireball with sparks shooting several feet into the air. The explosion’s intensity was so strong that nearby houses were affected, with their windows shattered by the force of the blast.
Fortunately, no one was injured in the explosion as the driver and the family managed to reach a safe distance in time. The fire was eventually brought under control by local fire services, but it could have turned into a major tragedy.
