“Prime Minister Modi Holds Talks with US National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan in Delhi”

PM Narendra Modi Meets US NSA Jake Sullivan in Delhi to Strengthen Strategic Partnership

Prime Minister Narendra Modi held a significant meeting with US National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan in New Delhi on Monday, reinforcing the commitment to enhance the India-US Comprehensive Global Strategic Partnership. The meeting comes shortly after PM Modi’s engagement with US President Joe Biden at the G7 Summit in Italy.

PM Modi shared on social media platform X about the productive discussions with Jake Sullivan, emphasizing India’s dedication to bolstering the strategic alliance with the United States for the global good. “Met US National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan. India is committed to further strengthen the India-US Comprehensive Global Strategic Partnership for global good,” he wrote.

Jake Sullivan’s visit to New Delhi on June 17-18 marks the first high-level visit from a senior Biden administration official since PM Modi’s re-election for a third term. Earlier in the day, Sullivan had an extensive discussion with India’s National Security Advisor Ajit Doval. Their talks focused on the implementation of the ambitious India-US Initiative on Critical and Emerging Technologies (iCET), bilateral defense cooperation, and regional security issues.

The high-level US delegation accompanying Sullivan includes senior government officials and industry leaders, underlining the importance of this visit in furthering bilateral ties.

According to PTI, Ajit Doval and Jake Sullivan also deliberated on the proposed India-Middle East-Europe Economic Corridor (IMEC), especially considering the delays in its rollout due to the current situation in West Asia.

In addition to his meetings with PM Modi and Ajit Doval, Jake Sullivan also met with External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar. Minister Jaishankar expressed his satisfaction with the comprehensive discussions held with Sullivan, covering a wide range of bilateral, regional, and global issues. “Delighted to welcome US NSA Jake Sullivan to New Delhi today morning. A comprehensive discussion on a broad range of bilateral, regional and global issues,” Jaishankar wrote on X.

Minister Jaishankar expressed confidence that the India-US strategic partnership will continue to advance robustly during PM Modi’s new term, reflecting the shared commitment to addressing global challenges and enhancing mutual cooperation.

This visit and the high-level discussions held are expected to pave the way for stronger bilateral relations and collaborative efforts on critical and emerging technologies, defense, and regional security between India and the United States.
