The Pune city police have taken a significant step forward in the ongoing investigation of a Porsche car accident involving minors by submitting a detailed ‘investigation report’ to the Juvenile Justice Board (JJB). This development was confirmed by Assistant Police Commissioner of Police (ACP) Sunil Tambe, who stated that the report was submitted on Saturday.
The investigation report compiled by the police encompasses a wide range of details related to the accident. ACP Tambe explained, “The report includes statements from the driver, two minors who were in the car during the accident, eyewitnesses at the scene, individuals present at nearby establishments, CCTV footage, and other pertinent information.”
Initially, the JJB faced criticism for granting bail to one of the minors involved in the accident, with conditions such as writing an essay and performing traffic duty alongside the traffic police. This decision sparked public outcry, leading the Pune city police to file a review application with the board.
In response to public concerns, the JJB subsequently revised its decision and sent the juvenile to a correctional facility for an initial period of 14 days, which was later extended by another 14 days.
The submission of the comprehensive investigation report marks a significant milestone in the case, signaling a concerted effort by law enforcement authorities to thoroughly examine the circumstances surrounding the accident and ensure that appropriate measures are taken in accordance with legal procedures and public expectations.
