Pune Woman Rescued After Falling into 100-Foot Gorge While Taking Selfie

A 29-year-old woman was rescued after falling into a 100-foot deep gorge while taking a selfie near Thoseghar waterfalls in Satara, Maharashtra. The incident occurred when the woman, who had traveled to the Borne Ghat area from Pune with a group of friends, lost her balance and plunged into the gorge.

The rescue operation was carried out by a Home Guard and a group of mountaineers. A video of the dramatic rescue has since gone viral on social media. The woman was successfully brought out of the gorge and taken to a nearby hospital, where her condition is reported to be stable.

This incident follows a similar tragedy earlier this month, where a 26-year-old Instagram influencer, Aanvi Kamdar, died after falling into a gorge at Kumbhe waterfall in Raigad, Maharashtra. Kamdar had been on a trip with friends when she slipped while filming a video.

Local authorities have urged tourists to prioritize safety and avoid risky behavior while exploring scenic locations. They emphasized the importance of responsible tourism to prevent such accidents in the future.
