About a dozen children from Bishanpur village in Uttar Pradesh’s Balrampur district fell ill after allegedly consuming a “wild fruit” while playing on Thursday. Officials confirmed that they are undergoing treatment and are in stable condition.
According to Chief Medical Officer Mukesh Rastogi, the children began experiencing symptoms such as vomiting and diarrhea shortly after eating the fruit. “As their condition worsened, they were rushed to the district hospital for medical attention,” he said.
Following initial treatment, the children were shifted for further medical care. “Their condition has since stabilized, and medical teams are closely monitoring their progress,” Rastogi added.
Local MLA Kailash Nath Shukla visited the affected families and assured them of full support. Authorities have not yet identified the fruit consumed by the children, and further investigation is underway.
