In a world where most are told to choose between passion and profession, Atul Anand chose both—and is excelling at each with quiet grit and blazing speed.
A national-level sprinter and a System Solutions Architect at World Wide Technology, Atul is redefining what it means to pursue parallel greatness. Originally from Bihar, he embodies a rare blend of discipline, consistency, and resilience—qualities that have taken him from district tracks to the national stage, while simultaneously climbing the ladder in a demanding tech career.
Atul has qualified for and competed in six national championships—a feat in itself given India’s fiercely competitive athletic circuit. Reaching that level demands more than speed; it takes year-round focus, unflinching dedication, and personal sacrifice. And yet, Atul doesn’t just show up—he wins. He holds the title of the fastest sprinter in the men’s category in his state, consistently appearing on the State Championship podium since 2021, and earning multiple gold and silver medals this season alone. His crowning achievements include being named Overall Champion and Best Athlete of the State.
In 2023, he broke the sub-11-second barrier in the 100m—a defining moment in any sprinter’s career.
But the track is only half the story.
In under a year at WWT, Atul has earned two major accolades—Top Producer and Passion and Ethics Award—recognitions that speak volumes about his character and contribution beyond athletics. Before WWT, he spent five transformative years at Larsen & Toubro, learning, building, and growing—always with one foot on the track and the other on the gas pedal of his career.
“I’ve always loved both engineering and athletics,” he shares. “There were times I had to pause sports to focus on studies, but I never let go. I did it for myself and for my parents, who supported both dreams.”
Beyond medals and milestones, Atul’s story is about balance, belief, and blazing new trails. He actively mentors budding athletes, especially those struggling to juggle studies with sport, offering guidance, motivation, and a living example that both can be done.
And he’s not stopping anytime soon.
Behind the scenes, Atul is building two stealth-mode startups driven by his passion for fitness and problem-solving. “I’ll reveal them when the time’s right,” he smiles, “but they’re teaching me a lot and keeping me inspired.”
Atul’s dream goes beyond personal glory. “One day, when a young athlete is told to quit sports and ‘focus on studies,’ I want them—and their parents—to see me and believe it’s possible to do both. That’s why I run. That’s why I work. That’s why I won’t stop.”
As he prepares for the upcoming Nationals, Atul continues to run for every kid with a dream, every professional with a passion, and every soul trying to do more than one thing well.
