A 17-year-old boy tragically collapsed and died moments after stepping out of a swimming pool in Meerut on Friday afternoon. The boy, identified as Islam, was seen in a disturbing video walking a short distance before collapsing to the ground. Despite being rushed to a hospital, he was declared dead upon arrival.
The incident occurred shortly after Islam had played cricket in the morning and returned home before heading to the swimming pool with his friends. Kamlesh Bahadur, SP Dehat of Meerut, provided details on the incident: “A few children were at the pool. CCTV footage shows that a boy steps out of the pool, walks a little, and then slumps to the floor. He was taken to a hospital where doctors declared him dead on arrival.”
Islam’s family has not filed any police complaint regarding the incident. The cause of his sudden collapse and death remains unclear, pending further investigation.
This incident is the latest in a series of sudden collapses reported in Uttar Pradesh. In September of last year, a man collapsed in a gym while running on a treadmill. Despite immediate assistance from others, he could not be revived. In another incident in the state, a man collapsed during a dance at a wedding, similarly resulting in a sudden and tragic death.
The community in Meerut is in shock and mourning the unexpected loss of the young boy, as authorities continue to look into the circumstances surrounding the incident.
