Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader Tejashwi Yadav and his wife Rajshree Yadav have welcomed their second child, a baby boy, the couple announced on Tuesday. The newborn’s arrival brings joy to the family amid ongoing political and personal controversies.
Tejashwi Yadav took to X (formerly Twitter) to share the happy news, writing, “Good morning! The wait is finally over! So grateful, blessed, and pleased to announce the arrival of our little boy. Jai Hanuman!” He also shared pictures of the newborn, who joins his elder sister born in March 2023. The couple tied the knot in December 2021.
The family is currently in Kolkata, where Rajshree gave birth at a private hospital. RJD chief Lalu Prasad Yadav, his wife Rabri Devi, and daughter Misa Bharti also traveled to Kolkata on Monday to be with Tejashwi and his family.
However, this happy moment comes amidst family upheaval. On Sunday, RJD chief Lalu Prasad Yadav expelled his elder son and former minister, Tej Pratap Yadav, from the party. This decision followed Tej Pratap’s public revelation of a long-term relationship with a woman, even as his divorce case remains pending. Tej Pratap married Aishwarya Rai in 2018.
Aishwarya Rai publicly criticized the RJD family on Monday, questioning why the party leadership allowed the marriage to proceed despite knowing about Tej Pratap’s relationship. She claimed, “They ruined my life. Tej Pratap’s expulsion from the RJD is all a drama. They [Lalu Prasad Yadav and family] have done it to avoid further embarrassment for the party ahead of the Bihar assembly polls.”
While the family deals with these personal and political challenges, the arrival of the newborn baby brings a moment of happiness and hope for Tejashwi Yadav and his immediate family.
