    Telangana High Court Lawyer Pasnooru Venugopal Rao Suffers Heart Attack During Argument, Passes Away

    Senior advocate Pasnooru Venugopal Rao, 66, passed away after suffering a massive heart attack while arguing a case at the Telangana High Court on Tuesday, February 18.

    According to reports, the incident took place around 1 pm while he was presenting a second appeal case before Justice Alishetty Laxmi Narayana. Despite feeling uneasy, Rao continued with his arguments, fulfilling his responsibility towards his client. However, tragedy struck inside the courtroom, leaving the legal fraternity in shock.

    Fellow advocates immediately attempted CPR on Rao and rushed him to Osmania Hospital, but doctors declared him brought dead on arrival. Following the incident, Justice Alishetty Laxmi Narayana suspended court proceedings.

    Pasnooru Venugopal Rao had been practising law at the Telangana High Court since 1998 and was a well-respected figure in the legal community.

    In response to the incident, Telangana High Court’s Acting Chief Justice Sujoy Paul announced that no adverse orders would be passed against lawyers who were unable to attend their cases for the rest of the day.

    Rao is survived by his son, Ananth Aathreya, who is also a lawyer practising at the Telangana High Court, and a daughter based in the United States, who is rushing back to Hyderabad.
