Three coaches of an empty local train derailed on Sunday while being moved to the washing shed from Saharanpur railway station. The incident occurred around 3 pm on the washing line, and thankfully, no injuries have been reported.
According to Mandeep Singh Bhatia, the Divisional Railway Manager (DRM) of the Ambala division, the train involved in the derailment was a MEMU (Mainline Electric Multiple Unit) train and was empty at the time of the incident. “No one was injured in the derailment,” Bhatia confirmed.
The derailment did not impact train traffic on the main line, as the incident occurred off the main track. Authorities are currently investigating the cause of the derailment, and efforts are underway to repair the affected track and restore normal operations.
The DRM assured that the railway administration is working swiftly to address the situation and ensure the safety and efficiency of train operations in the area.
