3 Terrorists Killed in Encounter with Security Forces in Jammu and Kashmir’s Udhampur

In a significant operation in Jammu and Kashmir’s Kathua district, the army’s special forces and Jammu and Kashmir Police have neutralized three terrorists. The encounter, which involved the army’s 1 Para, 22 Garhwal Rifles, and the Special Operations Group (SOG) of the UT police, resulted in the killing of the terrorists. As of now, the bodies of two terrorists have been recovered, and the operation is still ongoing.

The operation follows a recent escalation in tensions along the border. Earlier today, a Border Security Force (BSF) soldier sustained injuries from unprovoked firing by Pakistani forces in the Akhnoor sector. This incident highlights the heightened alert status of the BSF, which is responsible for guarding the India-Pakistan international border stretching approximately 3,323 km. The BSF has reported varying levels of tension and security challenges across different sectors of the border.

The ongoing security operation aims to address and mitigate threats from terrorist activities in the region.
