Two men, allegedly involved in the crude bomb blast outside singer and rapper Badshah’s club in Chandigarh, were arrested following a dramatic encounter in Haryana’s Hisar district. The arrested individuals have been identified as Vinay (20) and Ajit Sehrawat (21), both residents of Hisar.
The blast occurred on November 26 outside two clubs in Chandigarh—Badshah’s Seville Bar and Lounge, and the De Orra Club. Surveillance footage from the scene showed a man throwing crude bombs at the establishments, shattering windows. Thankfully, no one was injured in the explosions.
Following a tip-off, Chandigarh police, in coordination with Haryana’s Special Task Force (STF), located the accused in Hisar. On November 29, a police team attempted to arrest the duo. When asked to surrender, the accused opened fire on the officers, prompting an exchange of gunfire. Both men were injured in the encounter, shot in the legs, and subsequently arrested. They were then taken to a hospital for treatment. During the clash, two police officers—Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) Sandeep and ASI Anoop—were shot but were protected by bulletproof vests.
The accused have previously been involved in criminal activities, according to the police. Authorities also stated that after the blasts, Goldy Brar, a Canada-based terrorist linked to the Lawrence Bishnoi gang, took responsibility for the attack. Brar’s Facebook post claimed that the explosions were carried out after the club owners refused to pay “protection money.” The post warned that ignoring such demands would lead to consequences, reinforcing the gang’s message of extortion.
The police are continuing their investigation into the blasts, and efforts to trace other individuals involved in the case are underway.
