“Union Home Minister Amit Shah Joins Ganga Aarti in Kashi, Assesses Plans for PM’s Varanasi Road Show”

Union Home Minister Amit Shah and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath participated in the Ganga Aarti and observed a drone show showcasing the development initiatives undertaken in Kashi over the past decade.

Following the Ganga Aarti, Shah oversaw arrangements for Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s upcoming road show scheduled for May 13 in Varanasi, a day before his nomination filing. Joining them were BJP National General Secretary Sunil Bansal and UP BJP President Bhupendra Chaudhary. The road show will commence from the BHU gate and culminate at Baba Kashi Vishwanath Dham’s gate number 4, where PM Modi will offer prayers.

On May 14, PM Modi plans to offer prayers at Baba Kaal Bhairav before filing his nomination papers. Having been elected MP from Varanasi in 2014 and 2019, Modi is seeking a third consecutive term from the temple city.

Navratan Rathi, BJP spokesperson for the Kashi region, mentioned that over 1 lakh BJP workers from five assembly segments of Varanasi and representatives from various communities like Marathi, Gujarati, Bengali, Maheshwari, Marwari, Tamil, and Punjabi, dressed in traditional attire, will welcome PM Modi during the road show. Additionally, a substantial number of farmers are expected to participate in the event.

Organizers of the Ganga Aarti extended a warm welcome to Shah, Adityanath, and Chaudhary at Dashashwamedh Ghat. Hanuman Yadav, Secretary of Ganga Seva Nidhi, applied sandalwood paste on their foreheads, while Sushant Mishra, President of Ganga Seva Nidhi, presented Shah with a rosary, a memento, and “prasad.” Treasurer Ashish Tiwari extended similar greetings to the CM and BJP state president.
