A distressing video capturing a road rage incident in Bengaluru has gone viral on social media, showing a furious biker attacking a car with a family inside. The incident, which occurred on Monday night around 10:30 PM near Doddakannalli on Sarjapur Road, involved a confrontation between the biker and a couple after their car allegedly made a turn without signaling.
In the video shared on X (formerly Twitter) by Citizens Movement, East Bengaluru, the enraged biker is seen aggressively confronting the couple, who repeatedly scream that they have a baby with them. The situation escalates as the biker attempts to open the driver’s door and then goes around the car to retrieve a large stone, presumably to throw at the vehicle.
Despite his efforts, the onlooker manages to snatch the stone from him. The biker then throws himself onto the bonnet of the car and breaks off a windscreen wiper, which he uses to smash the car’s windshield, injuring a 7-month-old child inside. The car’s occupants are heard shouting for him to stop, with the baby’s cries adding to the tension.
The violent outburst was reportedly sparked by the biker, who is identified as a bouncer from a Koramangala pub, being hit by the family’s car after it made an unsignaled turn. The biker, who was allegedly intoxicated, confronted the family aggressively, leading to the property damage and subsequent arrest.
The Bengaluru City Police responded swiftly to the incident, taking the biker into custody and initiating an investigation. They confirmed that the attacker is now facing charges of attempted murder. The police also acknowledged the quick response of the citizens and the support from the community in addressing the situation.
The disturbing footage has garnered widespread attention and calls for increased road safety and better handling of road rage incidents. The Bengaluru City police are continuing their investigation into the case as they work to ensure justice for the affected family.
