In a shocking revelation, the murder of Provincial Armed Constabulary (PAC) quartermaster Satish Kumar Singh on Diwali night has been attributed to his wife and brother-in-law. Police investigations unveiled a plot driven by alleged illicit relationships and domestic turmoil, leading to the arrest of the two suspects.
The wife, Bhavna Singh (40), purportedly joined forces with her brother, Devendra Kumar Sharma (35), to orchestrate the killing. Their motive stemmed from Bhavna’s reported suffering of physical and mental distress due to her husband’s alleged involvement in illicit affairs. Lucknow’s deputy commissioner of police (DCP), Vineet Jaiswal, revealed that evidence, including a firearm and a GPS tracker secretly installed in the deceased’s car, was recovered during the investigation.
During interrogation, Devendra Kumar Sharma confessed that Satish Kumar Singh had multiple illicit relationships, a situation that Bhavna Singh vehemently opposed after their marriage in 2011. Consequently, Devendra decided to eliminate his brother-in-law with Bhavna’s consent, initiating a chilling sequence of events.
The meticulous planning included the installation of a GPS tracker in Satish’s vehicle, allowing Sharma to monitor the victim’s movements. On the fateful night, disguised in a cap and mask to conceal his identity, Devendra ambushed Satish outside his residence as he was unlocking the door. Shockingly, Bhavna, accompanied by their daughter, was purportedly present in the car, fully aware of the unfolding conspiracy.
Following the crime, Sharma meticulously disposed of the firearms in Kanausi canal and strategically maneuvered through the city to evade surveillance. The police, after scanning through 400 CCTV footages, pieced together the puzzle, recovering crucial evidence such as firearms, clothes, a bicycle, and a phone containing GPS locations crucial to the case.
The arrest of Bhavna Singh and Devendra Kumar Sharma has sent ripples through the community, shedding light on a tragic incident rooted in alleged infidelity and domestic discord.
