In a tragic incident, a 23-year-old woman, Parinita Jain, collapsed and died of a heart attack while dancing at her cousin’s wedding in Vidisha. Shockingly, this was not the first such tragedy in her family—her younger brother had also suffered a fatal heart attack at the age of 12.
Parinita, who had recently completed her MBA and was living with her parents in Indore, was attending the sangeet function on Saturday along with over 200 guests. As she performed to the popular Bollywood song Sharara Sharara, she suddenly collapsed just 30 seconds into the dance. Family members, including doctors present at the venue, immediately attempted CPR, but their efforts were in vain. She was rushed to a nearby hospital, where doctors confirmed she had suffered a heart attack and declared her dead.
Her sudden demise is part of a worrying trend where seemingly healthy young individuals collapse and die while dancing or playing sports. Such incidents have gone viral on social media, leading to speculation about possible links between Covid-19 vaccines and sudden cardiac arrests. However, medical experts have dismissed these claims, emphasizing that factors such as family history, lifestyle choices, stress, and pre-existing conditions play a crucial role in cardiac health.
Last year, then-Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya cited an Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) study, which found no connection between Covid-19 vaccines and heart attacks. “There are multiple reasons for heart attacks, like our lifestyle, tobacco, and excessive liquor consumption. Misinformation can sometimes create false perceptions, but decisions should be based on data and scientific research,” he had stated.
Parinita’s untimely death has left her family and friends in deep shock, once again raising concerns about the increasing number of cardiac-related fatalities among young individuals.
