A 54-year-old police inspector suffered a fatal cardiac arrest while on duty during Holi celebrations in Indore district, an official confirmed on Saturday.
Inspector Sanjay Pathak was stationed at Betma, a communally sensitive area, on Friday when he suddenly complained of severe chest pain to his colleagues. His fellow officers immediately attempted to rush him to Bombay Hospital in Indore, but he tragically passed away on the way.
Speaking about the incident, Indore Additional Superintendent of Police (Rural) Rupesh Dwivedi said, “Inspector Pathak was deployed for duty during Holi celebrations in Betma when he experienced chest pain. Despite efforts to get him medical help, he could not be saved.”
The sudden demise of the police officer has left his colleagues in shock, and tributes have poured in from fellow officers and officials. Further procedures are underway, and authorities are expected to conduct a post-mortem examination to determine the exact cause of death.
