Three people lost their lives in a tragic road accident near Naya Gaon village in Udaipur district on Friday after a speeding car collided with their two-wheeler, police said.
The victims—Ramswaroop (24), Bhairu (23), and Prahlad (25)—were on their way to celebrate Holi at a relative’s place when the accident occurred. “The impact was severe. Two of them fell onto the road, while the third was thrown nearly 30 feet into a deep ditch,” a senior police officer stated.
Locals quickly called for medical assistance, and an ambulance transported Ramswaroop and Bhairu to Mahatma Gandhi Hospital in Bhilwara, where doctors declared them dead on arrival.
However, Prahlad’s whereabouts remained unknown until Saturday morning when residents near the accident site spotted his body in the ditch and alerted the police. The body was recovered and sent for an autopsy along with the other two victims.
Authorities have registered a case against the unidentified car driver and launched an investigation under the relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) for negligent driving.
“The family informed us that Prahlad and Ramswaroop were brothers-in-law, while Bhairu was their relative,” the officer added.
