In a significant counter-terrorism operation, security forces in Baramulla successfully neutralized three terrorists on Saturday following an overnight gunbattle. The operation, which took place in the Chak Tapper Kreeri area, has been hailed as a major success by officials.
Drone footage from the operation has surfaced, showing a dramatic sequence where one of the terrorists, armed with an assault rifle, attempts to flee from a building. The video captures the intense moments as the terrorist runs towards a nearby tree line but is eventually gunned down by security personnel. The footage also highlights the fierce exchange of gunfire, with bullets striking the concrete walls and raising clouds of dust.
According to Brigadier Sanjay Kannoth, Commander of the Army’s 10 Sector Rashtriya Rifles, the operation led to the death of three “hardcore” terrorists and the recovery of a substantial cache of arms and ammunition. The action followed specific intelligence about the terrorists’ presence in the area, prompting the security forces to cordon off the suspected hideout.
The successful neutralization of the terrorists comes at a time of heightened tension in the region. In a separate incident in Kupwara, two army soldiers were tragically killed in action during another engagement with militants.
Brigadier Kannoth commended the operation as a significant achievement for the security forces, emphasizing the importance of this success amid ongoing challenges in maintaining peace and security in Jammu and Kashmir.
