Two Women Killed After Scooter Collides with Speeding BMW in Indore; Driver Flees

In a tragic accident on Saturday night in Indore, two women riding a scooter were killed after being struck by a speeding BMW. The incident occurred as Diksha Jadon and Lakshmi Tomar were returning from the Khajrana Ganesh temple fair.

According to Khajrana police station in-charge Manoj Singh Sendhav, the BMW collided with the scooter, causing both women to be thrown onto the road. Eyewitnesses reported that the impact was severe, resulting in critical injuries for Jadon and Tomar. They were rushed to a nearby hospital but unfortunately succumbed to their injuries.

Diksha Jadon, originally from Gwalior, was employed at a public sector bank in Indore, while Lakshmi Tomar, from Shivpuri, was the sole breadwinner for her family following her father’s death last year. The incident has deeply affected their families and communities.

The driver of the BMW fled the scene immediately after the crash. The police have registered a case against both the car owner and the driver, and a search is underway to locate and apprehend the perpetrator.

This incident echoes similar tragic accidents involving luxury cars. In Pune on May 19, two software engineers were killed when their motorcycle was hit by a Porsche driven by a 17-year-old. The juvenile justice board’s lenient handling of the case sparked nationwide outrage, leading to further legal actions.

In Mumbai in July, a 45-year-old woman, Kaveri Nakhwa, was killed after a BMW driven by Shiv Sena leader Rajesh Shah’s son, Mihir Shah, collided with her vehicle. Nakhwa was dragged for 100 meters by the speeding car before succumbing to her injuries. Mihir Shah was later arrested after evading capture for three days.

The Indore accident highlights ongoing concerns about road safety and the consequences of reckless driving. Authorities are calling for stricter enforcement of traffic laws to prevent such tragedies in the future.
