Tollywood actor Allu Arjun has found himself in legal trouble after being charged by the police in Nandyal, Andhra Pradesh, for violating the poll code. The case was filed against him for visiting the house of his friend and YSRCP MLA Silpa Ravi without prior permission from the constituency’s Returning Officer, which resulted in a large gathering of fans and supporters on the road.
Silpa Ravi, seeking renomination from Nandyal in the upcoming elections scheduled for May 13, hosted Allu Arjun at her residence on the final day of campaigning. The actor’s visit led to the enthusiastic gathering of thousands of fans outside the MLA’s house.
Despite Section 144 of the Election Code and Section 31 of the AP Police Act being in effect, Allu Arjun’s appearance at the MLA’s house prompted the police to take action, registering a case under Section 188 of the Indian Penal Code for disobedience to orders issued by public servants.
During his visit, Allu Arjun joined Silpa Ravi and her family on the balcony, acknowledging the crowd’s cheers and chants of ‘Pushpa, Pushpa,’ in reference to his popular film. This public display of support and the ensuing gathering contravened election protocols, leading to the legal repercussions.
Both Allu Arjun and Silpa Ravi expressed gratitude and appreciation for each other’s support on social media platforms. Allu Arjun thanked the people of Nandyal for their warm reception and wished Silpa Ravi success in the elections and beyond. Similarly, Silpa Ravi acknowledged Allu Arjun’s unwavering support and friendship in a video shared online.
