Amit Shah Holds Meeting with Delhi Police Chief, Orders Increased Security Following Pahalgam Attack

Amit Shah Meets Delhi Top Cop, Orders Enhanced Security After Pahalgam Terror Attack

Union Home Minister Amit Shah held a crucial meeting with Delhi Police Commissioner Sanjay Arora on Saturday to discuss and review the security situation in the national capital in the wake of the recent terror attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir. The attack, which claimed the lives of 26 civilians, has raised concerns over potential spillover effects on the security in other parts of India, including Delhi.

The meeting, which lasted approximately 30 minutes, focused on enhancing security measures in the city to prevent any untoward incidents. Shah, who has been closely monitoring the aftermath of the attack, instructed the Commissioner to ensure the capital remains vigilant and well-prepared. According to sources, the Home Minister emphasized the importance of maintaining peace and stability in Delhi, directing that there should be no lapse in law and order.

“Night vigilance and foot patrolling will be increased in the coming days to ensure that the city remains secure,” a senior police officer said. The Delhi Police have already been put on high alert, with instructions to ensure that no incidents of unrest or violence take place following the terror attack in Pahalgam.

In addition to discussing the security measures, Shah also raised concerns about the presence of foreign nationals in Delhi. He specifically ordered that the police ensure no Pakistani nationals are residing in the capital. This directive comes amidst rising tensions following the Pahalgam attack, with authorities tightening border security and ramping up efforts to locate and arrest individuals linked to terrorist activities.

The Pahalgam terror attack, which targeted a group of tourists, has been condemned by political leaders and international figures alike. In response to the attack, the Indian government has intensified its actions against Pakistan, including suspending visa services for Pakistani nationals and recalling diplomatic personnel.

Shah’s meeting with Delhi’s top cop reflects the government’s focus on ensuring national security while managing growing concerns related to terrorism. The government’s priority now is to prevent any potential retaliatory actions in Delhi, ensuring the safety of its residents amidst heightened tensions.

As of now, Delhi Police are continuing their operations to monitor and secure vulnerable areas, working to ensure that any threat to the peace and security of the city is neutralized promptly.
