Delhi’s Lieutenant Governor V K Saxena has taken a significant step by seeking a detailed investigation into an allegedly derogatory social media post made by Congress leader Supriya Shrinate against actor Kangana Ranaut. The controversial remarks, which sparked a row, were reportedly posted on Shrinate’s social media accounts and later removed, with Shrinate claiming that someone else had access to her accounts and posted the comments.
According to officials from Raj Niwas, Lt Governor Saxena has directed Delhi Police Commissioner Sanjay Arora to conduct a thorough investigation into the matter. This move comes after BJP leader Bansuri Swaraj filed a complaint demanding an investigation and the registration of an FIR against Shrinate for outraging the modesty of a woman.
The complaint has been forwarded to the police commissioner, with instructions for a “scientific” investigation and the initiation of legal action if necessary.
