“Explosion at Bengaluru’s Rameshwaram Cafe Leaves Nine Wounded, Confirmed by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah”

Bomb Blast at Bengaluru's Rameshwaram Cafe Leaves 9 Injured

A bomb blast rocked Bengaluru’s Kundalahalli area today, leaving nine people injured at the popular Rameshwaram Cafe. Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah confirmed the incident to reporters, stating that the explosion occurred around 12:30 pm. The blast was captured on CCTV footage, shedding light on the severity of the incident.

Initially, the police were uncertain about the cause of the explosion and launched an investigation. However, after a team comprising the National Investigation Agency (NIA), bomb squad, and forensics experts arrived at the scene, it was determined that an improvised explosive device (IED) was used in the attack.

Chief Minister Siddaramaiah addressed reporters, stating, “There’s information that around 12.30 pm, there was an explosion. And that there was a bag. The investigation is on… I am getting to know that it was an IED. The investigation is on.”

In response to the incident, an FIR has been filed under the anti-terror laws Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act and Explosive Substances Act. Additionally, BJP’s Bengaluru South MP Tejasvi Surya took to social media to express concern, stating that he spoke with the cafe owner, who indicated that the blast was caused by a bag left behind by a customer.

“Just spoke to Rameshwaram Cafe founder Sri Nagaraj about the blast in his restaurant. He informed me that the blast occurred because of a bag that was left by a customer and not any cylinder explosion. One of their employees is injured. It seems to be a clear case of bomb blast. Bengaluru demands clear answers from Chief Minister Siddaramaiah,” Mr. Surya said in his post.

The injured individuals were promptly taken to Brookfield Hospital for treatment, where they are reported to be out of danger, according to Karnataka Police chief Alok Mohan.

As investigations continue into the motives behind the attack and the individuals responsible, the incident has sparked concerns regarding security and safety in Bengaluru. Authorities are urged to take swift action to ensure the safety of citizens and prevent such incidents in the future.
