Ahmedabad: Billionaire industrialist Gautam Adani’s youngest son, Jeet Adani, tied the knot with Diva Jaimin Shah in a traditional ceremony held in Ahmedabad today. The intimate wedding, conducted as per Jain and Gujarati customs, took place at the Adani township in Ahmedabad, Shantigram.
Taking to social media, Gautam Adani shared the first pictures from the wedding, expressing his joy and gratitude. “With the blessings of Almighty God, Jeet and Diva tied the sacred knot of marriage today. The wedding took place today in Ahmedabad with traditional rituals and Shubh Mangal Bhaav among loved ones. It was a small and extremely private function, so we could not invite all the well-wishers even if we wanted to, for which I apologise. I sincerely seek blessings and love from all of you for my daughter Diva and Jeet,” Adani wrote in a post on X (formerly Twitter).
Traditional Ceremony with a Philanthropic Touch
The wedding festivities began at 2 pm and were attended by close family and friends. The rituals reflected the rich traditions of Jain and Gujarati culture, reinforcing the couple’s deep-rooted heritage.
In a remarkable gesture, Gautam Adani announced a donation of Rs 10,000 crore on the occasion, which will be allocated to various social causes. Sources indicate that the majority of this donation will be directed towards large-scale infrastructure initiatives in healthcare, education, and skill development. The funds are expected to facilitate the creation of world-class hospitals, medical colleges, K-12 schools, and global skill academies, aiming to provide quality services to all sections of society.
A Noble Initiative by the Newlyweds
Ahead of their wedding, Jeet Adani and Diva Shah pledged to contribute Rs 10 lakh each towards the wedding expenses of 500 women with disabilities every year. Days before their nuptials, Jeet Adani met with 21 newlywed Divyang (differently-abled) women and their husbands to formally launch this philanthropic initiative.
Gautam Adani praised the couple’s commitment to social welfare, stating, “Jeet and Diva have decided to start their married life with a noble pledge. They have taken a ‘Mangal Seva’ pledge to contribute Rs 10 lakh to the wedding of 500 Divyang sisters every year. As a father, this pledge gives me immense satisfaction. I believe this initiative will help many Divyang daughters and their families live with joy and dignity.”
Jeet Adani’s Role in the Adani Group
Jeet Adani, who joined the Adani Group in 2019 after completing his studies at the University of Pennsylvania’s School of Engineering and Applied Sciences, currently leads the company’s airport business and Adani Digital Labs.
While there had been speculation about a grand, star-studded wedding, Gautam Adani had previously clarified that the ceremony would be a simple and traditional affair.
The wedding, while private, has captured public attention due to the couple’s dedication to social causes and the significant philanthropic commitments announced alongside the celebrations.
