In a spectacular display of enthusiasm, Prime Minister Narendra Modi undertook a 10-kilometer-long night roadshow in Ranchi, Jharkhand, drawing massive crowds that lined the route to extend a warm welcome. The roadshow commenced shortly after PM Modi’s arrival at Birsa Munda airport in a special aircraft, surrounded by tight security measures.
Thousands of people gathered on both sides of the road, eager to catch a glimpse of the Prime Minister and convey their greetings. PM Modi’s visit to Jharkhand coincides with the eve of tribal icon Birsa Munda’s birth anniversary, a day that also holds significance as Jharkhand’s statehood day.
Upon his arrival, PM Modi received a cordial welcome from Governor CP Radhakrishnan and Chief Minister Hemant Soren at the airport. The roadshow route, extending from the airport to Raj Bhavan, witnessed traffic restrictions from 8 pm to 10:30 pm to ensure the smooth progress of the event.
The entire stretch from the airport to Raj Bhavan, as well as from Governor’s House to Birsa Munda Old Jail, was declared a no-fly zone for drones from 6 pm on Tuesday to 11 pm on Wednesday, as per directives from district administration officials.
PM Modi’s visit holds special significance, marking a celebration of tribal heritage and Jharkhand’s statehood. The night roadshow not only showcased the warm reception by the people of Ranchi but also underscored the cultural and historical significance of the occasion.
